HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION
What fun we all had on Halloween! It was a great day and the children looked absolutely adorable in their Halloween costumes! We were so proud of them and extremely impressed with how well they marched around campus while “taking in the sights” at the same time. Thanks for your help with costumes and having the children ready to go. Also, thank you to everyone who contributed food, drinks, and goodies for our special Halloween celebration. We appreciate your help and generosity. For those who were looking to sign up for Halloween but found all slots were filled, read on...
READING BUDDIES MINI-THANKSGIVING FEAST
One of our most treasured PreK traditions is our Mini-Thanksgiving Feast with Reading Buddies. This will take place on the morning of Friday, November 17th in the dining hall when the PreKers and the Fourth graders will come together for about one hour of special snacks, friendship, conversation, and a fun Thanksgiving story. There will be a special snack sign-up sheet posted outside the classroom next week for anyone who is able to help out with food, drinks, etc. Thank you in advance for your help!
IN THE CLASSROOM
We are currently focusing on and developing many different concepts in class including (but not limited to) letter and number recognition, individual letter sounds, AB patterns, beginning calendar concepts, left to right orientation, rhyming, and developing a correct pencil and scissor grip. Individual students are also being given the opportunity to “read” the Helper’s chart and our Daily Schedule, be the attendance checkers and the snack helpers. There is a lot of learning going on!
TCS FALL FESTIVAL
Hopefully you have had a chance to read the following email from our room parents Victoria and Shannon, but in case you haven’t it is printed here as well.
Happy November! The Country School Fall Festival is November 17 from 3:15-5:15 and we hope to see all of you there! The cost for the event will be $5 per person or $20 maximum per family. The event will have games, an inflatable obstacle course, popcorn, water, prizes and so much fun!
To help this event run smoothly we need some support! If you are able to sign up to help with this event, please do so. The sign-up genius link is located below and we could really use your support.
THANKSGIVING
Next week we will begin learning about Thanksgiving - it’s origins, significance, and traditions. Through class discussion, investigation, stories, and activities we hope to help the children develop a better understanding of, and appreciation for, this important American holiday.
CAN VAN FOOD DRIVE
Every year TCS collects cans and other non-perishable foods to help fill up the TCS CAN VAN. All food collected will be donated to area soup kitchens. Your help, as always, is greatly appreciated. There is a container for PreK donations in the hallway / lobby. Look for the bookmark your child has brought home that gives you a list of the most helpful items. Thank you in advance for your generous contributions!
